Poland says US cedes Europe to Russia

By announcing the lifting of sanctions against companies involved in the Nord Stream-2 project, Biden decided to cede Central Europe to Berlin and Moscow

Polish historian Professor Mieczyslaw Ryba shared this opinion.

“We are talking about bypassing Central Europe and connecting Germany and Russia into one gas pipeline. This is worrying. Why did the US do this?” – asks the expert.

He refers to the American leader’s statement in which he attributes the lifting of sanctions to good relations with Germany, “because it is a US ally”.

According to Ryba, this gives Berlin full freedom of action in Europe, which also applies to relations with Russia.
The historian writes that all indications are that the Americans are primarily betting on a global fight with China, while Germany and Russia have their own role to play in this alliance.

However, he believes that Moscow has no intention to join the alliance and Berlin is in doubt.

In addition, Ryba noted that the US has in fact handed over the management of Central Europe to Germany.

“We are going back to the times of Barack Obama or Bill Clinton. Russia feels the weakness of the US, and it has come very close to our borders”, –  the political scientist explained.

He concluded that Poland should start worrying as Germany could eliminate its coal sector and thus subdue it in energy terms.
The professor assumed that in some time Warsaw will buy energy from Germany, which is produced from Russian gas. Therefore, Poland needs to respond to this challenge in order to protect the country’s independence, he concluded.
