Greens leader Annalena Berbok spoke out for the expansion of new EU sanctions, including those on the Belarusian oil sector
According to TASS, co-chair of the Union-90″/Greens Annalena Berbock, who was nominated from the party for the German Chancellor’s Office, urged the EU on Monday to speed up the process of imposing sanctions against Belarus and expand them to the country’s oil sector.
“What is required is not only the ambition to adopt an ambitious sanctions package, but it also needs to be implemented as soon as possible”, – Berbock said at a press conference in Berlin.
According to her, “the EU Council meeting at foreign ministers’ level, scheduled for 21 June, is overdue.”
“They should meet earlier to extend appropriate sanctions to the state and above all to the oil sector”, – the chancellor candidate said.
