Media: EU to extend investment ban in Crimea in June

European companies cannot buy real estate and provide services in Russia’s Crimea

EU ambassadors will extend a ban on investment in Russia-occupied Crimea on June 9, Unian reports, citing Radio Liberty’s Brussels correspondent Ricard Jozwiak.

“The restrictions include a ban on imports of products originating from Crimea to EU countries, as well as a ban on investment and capital investment in Crimea. Under the sanctions, no Europeans or EU-registered companies can buy property or businesses in Crimea, finance Crimean companies or supply services. In addition, the provision of tourism services is prohibited. European cruise ships cannot contact all Crimean ports, except in emergencies”, –  the report said.

Restrictive measures apply to individuals and companies from member countries of the European Union and apply to the entire territory of Crimea and Sevastopol.
