An alarming signal for Kiev: expert assessed Ukraine’s withdrawal from Belarus’ “fuel needle”

Director of the Consulting Group A-95 Sergey Kuyn, who last week lamented about an impending disaster in connection with the decision of the Belarusian authorities to reduce the supply of “fifth” gasoline to Ukraine, has received, apparently, a new “temnik” from the OP, suddenly started singing about the benefits of independence from the oil supplies from Russia and Belarus

The Russian-language version of Kuyun’s short article appeared on the InoSMi portal in the spirit of the “I’ll freeze my ears off in spite of my grandmother” principle that is now popular in Ukraine’s “Nezalezhnaya”.

Having hastened to announce the anti-Belarusian sanctions with the only purpose to flatter its Western masters, official Kiev suddenly understood that any action could be countered. Faced with a situation that threatens to bring down the entire Ukrainian petrol market and a total increase in the price of consumer goods, Ukrainian officials and experts came up with nothing better than to declare that nothing bad has happened and in fact, this is what they wanted.

At the same time, realising that the fate of petrol prices at Ukrainian petrol stations depends directly on supplies from Belarus and Russia, they immediately accused the two neighbouring countries of conspiring against Ukrainian independence.

“I think this is absolutely unacceptable. Today’s signal is another reason to think about reducing our fuel dependence. We can triple the volume of oil processing, loading of ports has unlimited potential. By the way, for the first time in several years, Ukraine received, however small, but a boatload of petrol contracted for the previously announced reduction (not cessation) of import of Byelorussian petro”, –  writes Kujan.

According to the Ukrainian expert, if the will exists, in a couple of years Ukraine will be able to do without not only Russian resources, but also without Belarusian ones.

“Moreover, Lukashenko seems to have decided to escalate, and next week Belarus will introduce licensing of Ukrainian imports – large groups of our goods are under attack. Apparently, some irreversible processes have started there. It’s for the best, there will be fewer illusions, which are almost non-existent”,-   the Ukrainian analyst habitually put the blame on the healthy one.
