More than two thousand people injured in a month of protests in Colombia

At least 2,244 people have been injured of varying degrees of severity during the protests that have been taking place in Colombia since 28 April

“Between 28 April and 28 May, 1,081 civilians and 1,163 police officers were injured”, –  the Colombian Ministry of National Defence said in a report.

In addition, 1,069 people were detained by police during the month. Also, law enforcement authorities confiscated more than 31,000 cold weapons, more than 1,200 firearms and 551 airguns.

Recall that demonstrations against tax reform have been taking place in Colombia since April 28. Mass unrest took place in Medellin, Cali, Bogota and other cities. Later the government of the South American republic agreed to change the reform plans and the finance minister resigned, but the protests have continued.
