Mexico and Russia may jointly produce Sputnik V vaccine

Russia is ready for Mexico to produce a vaccine against COVID-19, Sputnik V, to supply the country’s population and influence markets in Central and South America

This was stated by Pedro Zenteno, director of Birmex Laboratories.

In a social media post, the official said Birmex representatives had visited Moscow in recent weeks, where they had had the opportunity to learn in detail about the cycle of the drug.

According to Zenteno, the Russian Foundation (for investment) and the Gamaleya National Research Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology are keen to transfer the vaccine technology. This means their expertise can already be applied in Mexico.
