US to impose sanctions on Belarus

In early June, Washington will return previously lifted restrictions against nine Belarusian state-owned enterprises amid the incident with an emergency landing of a Ryanair plane in Minsk, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said.

“On June 3, 2021, the United States will re-impose full blocking sanctions on nine Belarusian state-owned enterprises that previously received benefits under a number of general licenses from the Ministry of Finance”, – Psaki said in a statement.

After the return of sanctions, US citizens will be prohibited from participating in transactions with these organizations, their property or their interests in property. Psaki also announced the suspension of air traffic between the United States and Belarus.
