UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres welcomes the agreement on the summit of the Russian Federation and the United States in Geneva, hopes that the leaders of the countries will begin a dialogue on reviving the arms control regime, including through a new treaty to replace START-3, RIA Novosti told RIA Novosti in the office of the Secretary General.
Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden are scheduled to meet in person in Geneva on June 16.
“The Secretary General welcomes the announcement that President Putin and President Biden will meet in Geneva next month and hopes they will engage in constructive dialogue on how to revive disarmament and arms control, including through a new agreement to replace START-3”, – said the interlocutor of the agency.
