Russian Senator explains Pentagon’s refusal to label Russia as an enemy

Senator Alexei Pushkov commented on the statement of the US Department of Defense spokesman John Kirby that the Pentagon does not consider Russia an enemy.

According to a member of the Federation Council, even under President Trump, many politicians and the military labeled Russia as an enemy, and in December the current American leader Joe Biden repeated the same. Pushkov believes that the Pentagon spokesman is “trying to get out” on the eve of the upcoming meeting of the US and Russian presidents.

“Apparently, before the summit, an instruction was given to reduce the intensity of anti-Russian rhetoric. Although Psaki recently ranked Russia as the adversaries of the United States (adversaries). But the concept of “enemy “has disappeared from the official lexicon. The White House clearly does not want to irritate the Kremlin”, –  Pushkov wrote in your Telegram channel.

Putin and Biden will meet in Geneva on June 16, the Kremlin press service said earlier. The parties will discuss issues of strategic stability, the fight against the pandemic, the international agenda and regional conflicts.
