During a speech to the military, US President Joe Biden said that China could “take over” the United States in 10-15 years.
Speaking in Virginia, Biden referred to the battle between democracies and autocracies. He noted that the more complex the world becomes, the more difficult it is for democracies to unite and reach consensus.
“I have spent more time with Chinese President Xi Jinping than any world leader. 24 hours of personal meetings only with him and the translator; 17 thousand miles of travel with him in China and here. He strongly believes that China will take over America by 2030-2035 because autocracies can make quick decisions”, – Biden said.
The American leader did not explain his words. The White House has so far not commented on the president’s statement in any way.
Senator of the Russian Federation Alexei Pushkov noted that such statements first appeared in the lexicon of the American president. The senator also emphasized that 17 miles together, Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping “definitely did not pass”.
“Did Xi himself tell him this during their long conversation, which Biden likes to talk about? Or is it some new fable, like the story of 17 thousand miles that Biden allegedly walked hand in hand with the head of China? A fable because, no matter how you think, these 17 thousand miles together they definitely did not go. But in any case, it clearly follows from Biden’s words that the United States is maniacally afraid of China. Perhaps this is one of the main unspoken reasons why Biden so persistently sought a meeting with Putin”, – Pushkov wrote in his Telegram channel.
