EU head of diplomacy Josep Borrell made loud statements.
According to Evropeyskaya Pravda, the EU does not exclude an escalation of tensions with Russia due to the situation with the cancellation of European flights to Moscow, but so far they are observing the situation.
“Yesterday there was news about obstacles to the flights of European planes to Moscow. This is a big disruption to air traffic. However, we do not yet know if this will happen from time to time or if this is a general norm from the Russian authorities to force European aircraft to fly over Belarus. We will have to wait and see to take action”, – said EU head of diplomacy Josep Borrell ahead of an informal meeting of defense ministers in Lisbon.
According to him, the situation with the cancellation of flights creates a risk of escalation of tension between the EU and the Russian Federation.
“The risk of escalation is always there. It may be that all air traffic control is compromised, or it may be just a couple of isolated incidents. We are watching this”, – Borrell said.
