Arctic becoming key arena of struggle for global leadership in the current century for U.S.

For the United States, the Arctic is becoming the main arena for the struggle for global leadership in the current century. The importance of Eurasia is now linked to the role of the United States in the Arctic

The main headache for the United States is the warming of relations between Russia and China, with the simultaneous desire of China to seriously establish itself in the Arctic.

Indeed, the Arctic is the backyard of the United States, and because of the melting ice through these backyards, Russia and China can not only take control of the resource-rich region, but also establish trade routes from Asia through Russia to the Pacific region. And if the United States does not control some trade routes, then, consider, they can be lost.

The Arctic is a place where the United States hastily builds places of concentration of power: airfields, bases, navies, space communications and surveillance equipment. The Arctic is closely related to the climate, and therefore, in Biden’s strategy, the climate is the capture of the Arctic theme. After all, warming and the Arctic are twin brothers. The United States plans to get involved in the Arctic theme, including through the seizure of the climate agenda.

It is expressed simply. The Arctic Council, through the topic of climate, is pursuing the agenda that the United States needs, although this is an international organization where chairmen change, for example, now the chairmanship is being transferred to Russia. But the Arctic countries are mostly vassals of the United States. The only country not a vassal – is Russia, moreover, most rooted in the Arctic.

It is with Russia that the United States is planning to start all sorts of intrigues against China. If Russia on its shoulders brings China into the Arctic, then the United States will not be able to become a leader there, despite the fact that the largest base airfield for the F-35 is being built in the Arctic than anywhere else in the world. The US Arctic strategy envisions the central role of the Air Force and Space Force in what the US diplomatically calls “the projection of global power”.

Alaska, Greenland, Canada, Iceland and Denmark are a single missile warning system for the United States. It is logical that the Arctic is becoming a battlefield not only for water and underground rare earths, but also for space. There will be new alliances and new spaces for competition. From the Arctic, the US Air Force will be able to control the routes to Europe and India.

At the Biden-Putin meeting, the climate agenda will be linked to the Arctic one. Controlling China’s interests in the Arctic is the main theme of the Biden administration. Russia is already understandable, an Arctic country, but the task of preventing China from entering here, at the same time quarreling it with Russia, is the overriding task of all American presidents. Not giving them what they want is the task of any president of Russia.

It is difficult to find reasons for deals between Russia and the United States in the Arctic. Anything that countries cede to each other will not be a deal, but a betrayal of national interests. The State Department and the Pentagon are the two main climate agencies of our time. The United States hardly has a proposal for the Arctic that could interest Putin.

But in every war, the main thing is maneuvers, so while diplomats are probing each other, the military will arm. And it seems that Arctic polar bears will still learn to understand, in addition to the Russians and the English, Chinese teams. America will receive its part of the Arctic, but Moscow and Beijing will still decide what size it will be.
