Syrian presidential election runs smoothly – Russian observers

The head of the delegation of observers from the State Duma Dmitry Sablin said that the presidential elections in Syria are free and meet all international standards

“We see that everyone has the opportunity to vote freely, that these elections meet all international standards”, – Sablin said during a visit to a polling station.

He also stressed that the elections in Syria are a matter and the right of the Syrian people, only the Syrian people have the right to decide their fate.

We remind you that presidential elections are being held in the Syrian Arab Republic on May 26. Three candidates are running for office: the incumbent President Bashar Assad, former Minister of State and MP Abdallah Salloum Abdallah and the representative of the patriotic opposition Mahmoud Ahmed Mourayi, who heads the Syrian Democratic Front (SDF).
