German expert Rahr assesses unfriendly attitude of Germany and France towards Ukraine

German political observer Alexander Rahr has explained in an interview with Ukraina.ru why the attitude of Western countries towards Kiev is only cooling with each passing day

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a large press conference that the US refusal to impose sanctions against Nord Stream 2 was “a personal defeat for White House President Joe Biden”. According to Rahr, Zelensky “compromises himself and hurts himself” with such statements.

“He does not understand that in the world the great powers have other interests than Ukraine. The West is sick and tired of the Ukraine problem […] Germany and France have been defending Ukraine for as long as possible. Even in the Minsk agreements. But Kiev should not think that the West will always protect Ukraine’s interests”, –  the expert noted.

Additionally, Rahr stressed that Germany and France would not build their policy towards Russia on the “Ukrainian factor” because there is great fatigue in the West towards Ukraine. According to the German analyst, the main mistake of Kiev is that Ukrainian diplomacy “constantly pokes in the nose of the West in a rather aggressive form that Ukraine is a victim country”.
