Capitol rioter sold video of woman’s death to media for $90,000

A participant in the Capitol riots, John Earl Sullivan, sold the media a video showing the death of a Trump supporter during the storming of the building on January 6

Sullivan was in the middle of the Capitol riots. Ashley Babbitt, who died, was trying to enter through a door that had a window already broken. At that moment a police officer fired a shot in her direction. Ashley died in hospital as a result of her wound.

Sullivan filmed the death of the Trump supporter and then sold the video to three media outlets for $90,000. The US authorities seized these funds from the American’s account.

Recall that on January 6, 2021, supporters of former US President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building in order to prevent the approval of the results of the election, which was won by Democrat Joe Biden. Five people were killed in the riots for various reasons.
