Poland complains about “collapsed hope” because of the “Nord Stream-2”

Polish MEP Jacek Sariusz-Walski was outraged by the “increased energy dependence” of Europe on Russia after the completion of the Nord Stream-2 project.

This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“The fate of Nord Stream 2 is a foregone conclusion: it will be completed. The American sanctions gave the last hope that the project could be blocked”, – he complained in an interview with the wPolityce portal.

The politician also announced the need to increase the country’s defense budget due to the threats behind the emergence of the gas pipeline. How “Nord Stream-2” threatens the security of Poland, he did not specify.

Also, in a conversation with reporters, Sariush-Walsky criticized Washington, which, in his opinion, began to make concessions in relations with Moscow.

Last week, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced the US refusal to impose sanctions against Nord Stream 2 AG. He explained this decision by national interests. However, the next day, the American authorities announced the next restrictive measures, which affected several Russian organizations and 13 courts.
