The Belarusian authorities claim that they received a message with threats to blow up the Athens-Vilnius flight over the Lithuanian city.
The Ministry of Transport of Belarus said that the authors of the message about the mining of the Athens-Vilnius flight to Ryanair threatened to blow up the plane over the territory of Lithuania.
This was stated by the director of the Aviation Department of the Ministry of Transport Artem Sikorsky.
According to Sikorsky, Minsk did not put pressure on the Ryanair commander’s decision to land in Belarus. Also in Belarus, everyone was invited to take part in the investigation of the incident with the Ryanair board, in particular Lithuania.
Sikorsky also said about informational stuffing in relation to the actions of the Belarusian authorities in the situation with the Ryanair flight.
Minsk also hopes that the EU will not impose a ban on flights through Belarus. So far, such prohibitions are rare.
