The Fortuna vessel continued laying the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline in German waters. This was reported by the DPA agency referring to the representative of the operator Nord Stream-2 AG.
“Fortuna is currently operating in German waters in accordance with the existing permits and with the statements made by the authorities”, – Nord Stream-2 AG said.
Earlier it became known that the Federal Office for Shipping and Hydrography has authorized the construction of a two-kilometer section in the exclusive economic zone of Germany by means of vessels with an anchor positioning system, which is equipped, in particular, the pipe-layer “Fortuna”.
Nord Stream
Nord Stream-2 envisages the construction of two directions of a gas pipeline with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the shores of Russia across the Baltic Sea to Germany. The United States is actively opposed to the construction of a Russian pipeline, as it wants to supply European countries with its own liquefied gas.
