According to TASS, several thousand people took to the central streets of London in support of the Palestinian people. As can be seen from the broadcast of the march, which is broadcast on Saturday by leading British TV channels, many protesters brought with them Palestinian flags and posters with the words “Freedom to Palestine” and “Stop the war.”
“The protesters gathered on the Victoria Waterfront and then headed towards Hyde Park via Whitehall Street, where many government buildings are located, and Trafalgar Square. The demonstrators, some of whom lit smoke bombs during the march, demand from the British authorities to play a more active role in the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and to impose an embargo on the export of lethal weapons to Israel. At the moment, the action is peaceful, information about the detainees has not yet been received”, – the message says.
A week ago, there was also a demonstration in support of Palestine in London with the participation of several thousand people. As a result of that action, 13 people were detained. As a result of clashes with protesters, 9 police officers were injured.
