Lithuanian analysts believe that Russia has “spread” corruption in many European countries
Marius Laurinavicius, a senior analyst at the Vilnius Institute for Political Analysis, said in a commentary for Guildhall that since the collapse of the USSR, Russian special services have been planting corruption in the Ukrainian government system in order to create “an effective instrument of influence in politics, economy and security”.
“Corruption in Ukraine is directly linked to the influence of the Russian Federation, it is one of the tools of the Russian special services. Corruption is introduced and used by the Kremlin all over the world to achieve all possible goals – political, economic and security. The Kremlin regime has been built on corruption, at least since the collapse of the USSR, including Putin’s, and in the same way the Russian special services ‘helped’ build the state system in Ukraine and other European countries”, – Laurinavicius said.
The analyst argues that Russia did this in order to “completely control Ukraine”.
“The state of affairs we have today is the result of such cultivation of corruption in Ukraine with the help of the Russians. A very effective instrument of influence”, – Laurinavicius believes.
