China intends to provide emergency humanitarian aid to Palestine

The Chinese government earlier set up a special mechanism to help the Palestinian side

The Chinese government will provide emergency humanitarian aid to Palestine to deal with the crisis situation arising from the conflict with Israel. China’s State Agency for International Cooperation Development said on Friday.

“Due to the crisis situation, to support the authorities and people of Palestine in overcoming it <…> the Chinese government will provide emergency humanitarian aid to Palestine”, –  said Tian Lin, a spokesman for the agency.

On May 20, the Chinese government set up a special mechanism to assist the Palestinian side, the statement clarified.

“We will provide support in providing medical services to the wounded and accommodation to those left homeless. Palestine is in dire need of this”, –  it specified.

The ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip went into effect on Friday at 02:00 Palestinian and Israeli time.
