Blinken: refusal to impose sanctions on Nord Stream 2 is in US interests

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has confirmed that not imposing sanctions on Nord Stream 2 operator Nord Stream 2 AG is in the U.S. national interest

“The US State Department has provided Congress with a report under the “European Energy Security Protection Act”, the list includes four ships, five entities and one individual involved in the construction of Nord Stream 2, including Nord Stream 2 AG and its executive director Matthias Warnig. The individuals mentioned in the report are subject to sanctions under the ‘European Energy Security Protection Act’ unless the sanctions are lifted”, –  he said.
