There is no final agreement on the venue of the U.S.-Russian summit
But as soon as and if there is one, an appropriate announcement will follow, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, RIA Novosti reported.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that there was no final agreement on holding a meeting between Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden yet, but if it is reached, the summit could take place in one of the “European diplomatic capitals”.
Meanwhile, according to RIA Novosti sources, the upcoming summit, if Russia agrees to it, could be held in Geneva.
“I still have nothing to report on the subject. I suggest not guessing at coffee grounds. As soon as and if a final agreement is reached, we will make an announcement accordingly”, – Peskov told reporters in response to a question whether the sides are indeed considering Switzerland for the summit.
