Expert says Russia has moved to tougher responses to Western countries

Dean of the Faculty of World Politics, Moscow State University M.V. Lomonosov Andrei Sidorov noted that the list of unfriendly states, in which the Czech Republic and the United States find themselves, may soon be replenished with other countries.

“The measure with the list is late. I believe that Russia should have responded harder. Almost every dispute with the Kremlin ended with the expulsion of Russian diplomats, and now the diplomatic war has begun in full. But still, this answer is more intelligible than those that were before, “Sidorov said in an interview with Nezavisimaya Gazeta.

In his opinion, this list has not yet put an end to it, and states that “do not have an independent foreign policy, such as the Baltic states, are unlikely to become more responsible and have great chances to be included in the list”.

Relations between Russia and the Czech Republic escalated after Prague accused the Russian special services of involvement in the explosions of military warehouses in the village of Vrbetitsa in 2014 and expelled 18 Russian diplomats.
