At present, the modernization of five airfields has been completed on the territory of Poland, in addition, the modernization of six more airfields in the territory of the state and the Baltic states is underway, said Igor Korol, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Republic’s Armed Forces.
According to TASS, in an interview with STV TV channel on Sunday, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus Igor Korol said that NATO countries are improving their military infrastructure near the borders of Belarus.
“Over the past four years, NATO’s military infrastructure in the adjacent territory has significantly improved, work is constantly underway to create new and to improve some old facilities”, – he said.
According to the commander, at present, the modernization of five airfields has been completed in Poland, in addition, the modernization of six more airfields in Poland and the Baltic countries is underway.
“Moreover, now these airfields can receive any type of aircraft and are capable of receiving and accommodating up to 200 aircraft of foreign states”, – said the King.
“The ports and naval bases on the territory of Poland, the Baltic states – near our closest neighbors are being improved in the same way”.
He stressed that this is primarily done with the aim of “creating a specialized infrastructure that would make it possible to transfer troops from the continental United States to Europe and deploy groupings.”
