President of the country Luis Arce and Ambassador of the Russian Federation Mikhail Ledenev took part in the ceremony of receiving the Russian vaccine at the international airport of the city of Cochabamba.
Another batch of 400 thousand doses of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus “Sputnik V” was delivered to Bolivia on Saturday. As reported by TASS with reference to the TeleSUR TV channel, Bolivian President Luis Arce and Russian Ambassador Mikhail Ledenev took part in the ceremony of receiving the cargo at the international airport of the city of Cochabamba.
“We need to speed up the vaccination process in the country”, – said the head of state, taking a batch of the drug.
He urged the population to take advantage of the opportunity to get vaccinated against coronavirus and strictly follow sanitary safety measures.
“We are fighting a tough fight, and we need the participation and commitment of the people of the country to gradually solve this problem”, – said Arce.
The resulting batch of the drug will be distributed to different municipalities in accordance with the plan for mass vaccination of the population. 125 thousand doses are planned to be sent to the department of Santa Cruz, where a tense sanitary-epidemic situation has developed. According to local representatives, a new batch of Sputnik V will soon arrive in Bolivia, and the country will receive 1.5 million doses of this vaccine.
