The United States told Israel that the safety of journalists and independent media is a paramount responsibility
This was announced by the press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki after the Israeli Air Force airstrike on the building with the offices of international media in Gaza.
“We told the Israelis directly that ensuring the safety of journalists and independent media is a top priority,” Psaki wrote on Twitter.
According to RIA Novosti, an Israeli airstrike on Saturday led to the collapse of a building in Gaza, where, in particular, the offices of international media, including the Associated Press, were located. The Israeli army has confirmed the strike on a multi-story building in the Gaza Strip, saying that it was used by Hamas for military purposes, in particular, the offices of the movement’s intelligence services were located there. IDF officials said civilians in the building had been warned of an impending strike and given sufficient time to evacuate.
