The number of attempts to enter the territory of Bulgaria by illegal migrants from Greece has increased by 12 times compared to 2020. This was reported by the Bulgarian broadcaster BNR, citing its sources in the border services
Most of the attempts to enter Bulgarian territory were stopped by Border Police patrols.
“During the first four months of 2021, attempts to enter from Greece into Bulgaria by 2,213 illegal immigrants were foiled. Almost 4 thousand people unsuccessfully tried to enter Bulgarian territory from Turkey in the same period”, – writes BNR.
It is also noted that the Greek media reported that illegal migrants from Turkey were moving through the Bulgarian border areas to enter Greece near the town of Evros.
