Russia may leave PACE again over controversy and Russophobia

Work in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is losing its meaning because of the hostility of Western countries, said Peter Tolstoy, head of the Russian delegation at PACE

The diplomat recalled that Russia had once already boycotted the assembly’s work. Fearing being deprived of the money contributions from Moscow, the organization did everything to resolve the situation. But the Russophobia has not disappeared.

“On the one hand, the Council of Europe is effectively the last international forum, apart from the UN, where Russia can express its opinion. On the other hand, it is of no use – no one at the PACE wants to listen to or hear the other side’s point of view”, –  Tolstoy said.
