Latvian ambassador names reason for enmity between Russia and the West

Tensions between Russia and the West began to escalate after the United States and Europe supported the coup d’etat in Ukraine

Latvian ambassador to Russia Maris Riekstins said this on Thursday, May 13, on the air of TV3.

“It is clear that these relations can now be described as the lowest point since the Cold War. There are several reasons for this, historical reasons, but the main turnaround in these relations was the events of 2014”, – the diplomat said.

At the same time, he blamed Russia for the crisis, accusing it of supporting residents of Donbas in the context of Ukrainian aggression.
