Palestinian radicals have resumed shelling Israel, the Times of Israel reports
Two people were injured in the rocket attack in the town of Kiryat Gat. It is also noted that ten rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, but one of the rockets exploded in the town’s car park.
Hamas said the rocket attack was in response to the Israeli military’s elimination of a number of the movement’s commanders in the Gaza Strip. The radicals also claim they are now using a new type of rocket that can reach anywhere in the Jewish state.
“We are telling the enemy: your airports, every point from the north to the south of Palestine is within range of our rockets”, – said Abu Ubaida, a spokesman for Hamas’ military wing.
Israeli police spokesman Michael Singerman said the Iron Dome had intercepted some 900 rockets. He noted that “had it not been for the work of the Iron Dome, the number of casualties in Israel would have been much higher.”
