In the city of Münster and Bonn, the flags of Israel were burned in front of the synagogues. Also in Bonn, stones were thrown at the entrance to a synagogue, damaging the glass door.
“According to the police, a group of young men of “Arab appearance” gathered near the synagogue in Münster, who shouted something loudly and set fire to the Israeli flag, the synagogue itself remained intact. Later, the police detained 13 suspects”, – the report says.
In Bonn, a crowd of people gathered in front of the synagogue, who threw stones and started a fire, and two suspects were arrested. In Dusseldorf, unknown persons tried to set fire to the memorial, but the fire went out before the arrival of the firefighters.
The incidents took place against the backdrop of a sharp exacerbation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Let us remind you that a new phase of the escalation of the conflict has begun between Israel and Palestine. Extremely serious and disturbing. It was triggered by the recent clashes between Palestinians and the Israeli police on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, as well as the decision of the Israeli Supreme Court to postpone consideration of the controversial Palestinian resettlement case.
