Previously spread information about the two attackers does not correspond to reality, the press service of the President of Tatarstan reported.
According to TASS, on Tuesday the head of the press service of the President of Tatarstan, Lilia Galimova, told reporters that the one who opened the shooting at the school in Kazan acted alone, the data on the two attackers do not correspond to reality.
“The attacker is one, the data on the two are invalid”, – the message says.
According to the information center of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC), at about 09:30 in Kazan, an armed criminal opened fire at gymnasium No. 175 on Jaudata Faizi Street.
The assailant, whose identity was established, turned out to be a former graduate of this gymnasium, Ilnaz Galyaviev, was detained and is in a pre-trial detention center. An anti-terrorist operation is being carried out on the territory adjacent to the gymnasium.
Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to provide medical and psychological assistance to the victims of the shooting at the Kazan school, as well as provide assistance to the relatives of the victims.
