Boris Johnson spent $20,000 to relax on Mustique Island in the Caribbean. Now parliament is trying to figure out where the politician got the money for the trip.
Johnson decided to relax with his fiancée Carrie Symonds shortly after the victory of the Conservatives in the parliamentary elections on December 12, 2019. He himself claimed that the vacation was paid for by David Ross, a party donor and former deputy head of the British company Carphone Warehouse. Ross denied the information, in connection with which the deputies of the Labor Party demanded to start an investigation. They referred to a code of ethics obliging to disclose who made the donation. The rule also applies to members of the government.
Although reports of the investigation appeared in the media last year, the procedure was officially confirmed only on Monday, May 10, on the official website of the parliament.
