Slovak Foreign Ministry spoke in favor of normalizing relations with Russia

Europe needs to stop the trend of deteriorating relations with Russia.

Such a statement on Monday, May 10, was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Ivan Korchok, speaking before the start of negotiations with European colleagues.

According to him, a “negative spiral” is being observed in Russian-European relations, which must be reversed.

Late last month, Korchok also announced that Slovakia is interested in building mutually beneficial relations with Russia. These words came after Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger decided to expel three employees of the Russian Embassy.

The decision was made in support of a Russophobic campaign that started in the Czech Republic, where Russia was unsubstantiatedly accused of destroying an ammunition depot in Vrbetica in 2014.
