EU leaders to discuss policy towards Russia at a summit in late May

The representative of the head of the European Council Barend Leits said that the summit of the leaders of the EU countries, at which Russia will be discussed, should take place on May 24-25, writes EurAsia Daily.

“The meeting of the leaders of the European Union under the chairmanship of the head of the European Council Charles Michel will begin in the evening, May 24, and continue until the next day, May 25”, – Leates said on Twitter.

He noted that the main topics of the meeting will be measures to counter the spread of coronavirus infection, problems of climate change, Great Britain and policy towards Russia.

Earlier it was reported that an informal summit of the leaders of the European Union ended on May 8, within the framework of which issues of Russia were also discussed. In particular, the representatives of the countries discussed the call of the Czech Republic to send “at least one” Russian diplomat as a sign of solidarity with the Prague side in the case of the explosions in Vrbetica in 2014.
