However, they reserve the right to do so if such a move is warranted
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said this on Friday at a regular briefing for journalists, TASS reported.
“When we announced our sanctions [in April], we used maximum room for manoeuvre so that we could take additional [restrictive] measures if their [Russia’s] actions became grounds for it. No one wants to take it to that point, but we reserve that right if we decide it is warranted”, – the spokeswoman said.
Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken commented on whether Russia would be disconnected from the international interbank system SWIFT. According to him, disconnecting Russia from SWIFT is a “hypothetical step”.
