The decision was made by NATO ambassadors at their last meeting
This was reported by a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Boryslav Bereza on his Facebook page.
“I want to congratulate Vladimir Zelensky with another achievement. The program of the NATO summit, which will take place on June 14, has been approved. So, it was decided not to invite Ukraine. At all. The decision was made by NATO ambassadors at their last meeting.”
Bereza believes that Zelenski needs to work more towards NATO and could start at least with the appointment of Ukraine’s ambassador to NATO, which has been missing for almost 2 years.
“But someone has to lobby our interests and negotiate with NATO on a daily basis. Although, it is easier to ask Biden. But at the same time it is absolutely futile. In the meantime, Zelensky continues to jump on the same rake and live within the framework of short-term goals.”
The Ukrainian deputy prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, Olha Stefanyshyn, said that the agenda for the NATO summit had not been approved yet. Only its date of 14 June has been determined.
“The summit is held with the participation of the member states of the alliance. The format of participation of partners, in particular Ukraine, is determined in a bilateral dialogue. This work is still ongoing and it is too early to talk definitively about the results”, – Stephanishina wrote on her Facebook page.
According to her, the intensity of the Ukraine-NATO dialogue will remain high during her visit to Brussels on May 17-18. There she intends to discuss all important issues of Ukraine’s interaction with the alliance.
