Washington does not rule out a return to the fulfillment of all the conditions of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program, which the Donald Trump administration previously refused to comply with.
On Thursday, May 6, a senior State Department official said the US and Iran could reach a consensus at a meeting in Vienna soon.
“Is it possible that we will see a mutual return in the coming weeks or an understanding regarding the return? It is possible. Time will tell”, – said a spokesman for the American diplomatic service.
At the same time, the official stressed that the fate of the JCPOA also depends on the Iranian side, which previously fulfilled its obligations, but began to abandon them against the backdrop of growing American pressure.
