Blinken admitted at the UN that some US actions undermined the “rule-based order”

The US Secretary of State noted that “everyone should be responsible for loyalty to the commitments they voluntarily assumed”

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said Friday at a UN Security Council meeting that a number of US actions in recent years have undermined “rules-based order” and others’ belief in Washington’s commitment to abiding by these rules, TASS reports.

“Everyone should be held accountable for being faithful to the commitments we voluntarily made”, –  he said. – ”This also applies to the United States. I know that some of our actions in recent years have undermined the rule-based order and made others wonder if we are still committed to it. ”

At the same time, Blinken pointed out that the United States under the Joe Biden administration is already returning to multilateral work with the international community.

“We have joined the Paris Climate Agreements again, returned to work with the World Health Organization, are working on returning to the UN Human Rights Council, engaged in diplomacy to restore the nuclear deal with Iran and strengthen the non-proliferation regime”, – he added.
