Swift Response, largest military exercise in 25 years, starts in Estonia

On Wednesday, May 5, military training began at the Central Range of the Estonian Defense Forces as part of Defender Europe, the largest US exercise in Europe in 25 years. This was reported by the press service of the main headquarters of the Estonian Defense Forces.

“On Wednesday evening, the 41st Field Artillery Brigade of the US Army will fire from MLRS multiple launch rocket systems at the Defense Forces’ central range. Five installations will fire more than ten missiles. Such artillery systems are designed to engage especially important targets at a great distance”, – the press service said.

Defender Europe is the largest US Army training series in Europe in 25 years. 16 countries are taking part in the maneuvers. Estonian defense will be practiced as part of the Swift Response exercise. More than 2,500 military personnel from Estonia, the USA and Great Britain will take part in the training. There will also be involved about 20 aircraft and 25 helicopters.
