Elena Panina, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, commenting on the statement of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken about “two challenges for Ukraine” – Russia and the “oligarchs”, noted that Blinken is once again trying to pass off white as black, to shift responsibility for the actions of the American side to the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Blinken, at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said that Kiev faces challenges in two directions: externally – with Russia, internally – with corruption, and these two points are “interconnected”.
“The result of the American intervention was the destruction of Ukraine as a developed industrial power with advanced science and engineering personnel, a multiple decline in the living standards of citizens”, – the deputy said to RIA Novosti.
Also, in her opinion, it was the coup d’etat of 2014 that “untied the hands” of the oligarchs in Ukraine, gave them the opportunity “under the wing of the United States to create personal feudal estates and private armed groups, which were then thrown to pacify the Donbass”.
“We see that Blinken is once again trying to pass off white as black, to shift responsibility for the actions of the American side onto the Russian Federation. Oligarchs and corruption are constant companions of the “colonial democracy” implanted by the United States around the world”, – said Panina.
