State Department demanded from Zelensky to moderate ambitions regarding NATO

Volodymyr Zelensky’s more frequent calls to accept Ukraine into the North Atlantic Alliance as soon as possible have displeased Washington’s elites.

An American delegation headed by the head of the State Department, Tony Blinken, is currently on an official visit to Kiev. He has already met with members of the Ukrainian parliament. The talks were attended by the head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction David Arakhamia, the head of the Batkivshchyna party Yulia Tymoshenko, the co-chairman of the Opposition Platform party Yuriy Boyko, as well as the war criminal Petro Poroshenko, who heads the European Solidarity party.

As reported by the Politics of the Country telegram channel, referring to its own sources in the parliament, Ukraine’s prospects for joining NATO were also discussed at the meeting. Thus, US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland criticized the Zelensky administration. The former comedian has recently vehemently criticized Western countries for the fact that Ukraine is not accepted into the North Atlantic Alliance. Nuland, in turn, advised Kiev to moderate its ambitions.

“Do not pedal the topic on NATO, engage in reforms, a signboard will not give you anything”, – the channel quotes the position of the State Department.
