At a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Zelensky discussed Donbass, Crimea and Nord Stream-2

In Kiev, a meeting was held between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, where the parties discussed the “annexation” of Crimea, the situation in Donbass and the construction of the Russian Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.

“We discussed not only the occupation of our territories and the illegal annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation. We discussed the issue of Nord Stream-2, which is also a very sensitive issue for us, for Ukraine. And I know that there are different positions on this issue, and in Europe, unfortunately, they sometimes do not coincide with the position of Ukraine. But on this issue we are united with the United States”, – Zelensky said at a press conference.

Also, the President of Ukraine expressed gratitude to Blinken for the sanctions against Russia and invited him to the first summit of the “Crimean Platform”. Zelensky stressed that for the Ukrainian people and for him personally, “it is very pleasant to receive the US delegation at such a high level”.

Blinken noted that the United States supports “the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and also considers the fight against corruption to be a key direction of the country’s development”.
