US faces crisis if it continues old and backward policies – DPRK Foreign Ministry

The head of the North Korean Foreign Ministry’s department for U.S. affairs, Kwon Jong-geun, has said that the United States is the real threat to North Korea

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said the nuclear programmes of Iran and the DPRK “pose a serious threat to the security of America and the world as a whole”. He pledged to counter the threats from Iran and the DPRK with “diplomacy and firm deterrence”.

“Tongue-in-cheek” Biden made a very big mistake, and now that the direction of the new US policy towards North Korea is clear, Pyongyang will be forced to take action. US diplomacy is just a plausible cover to mask hostile actions, and deterrence is a tool to threaten”, –  Kwon Jong-kyong said.

He also stressed that the nuclear training maneuvers deployed by the new US administration immediately after it came to power “really show who is threatening whom on the Korean Peninsula.”

“If the U.S. still intends to treat Korea-U.S. relations from a Cold War-era stance and perspective and pursue old and time-delayed policies, it will experience a crisis in the near future that will become increasingly difficult to deal with”, – the North Korean foreign minister said.
