Police use rubber bullets on demonstration in Zurich

Police in Zurich used rubber bullets against participants in a dispersal of an uncoordinated demonstration, the city’s police said

It is noted that seven concerted demonstrations were held in Zurich on Saturday morning to mark Labour Day. However, in the afternoon a square in the city was occupied by several hundred demonstrators who then moved to different parts of Zurich. The police reportedly suppressed all the marches.

“Pyrotechnics were detonated during the unauthorised demonstrations and bottles were thrown at the city police. There was a brief use of rubber bullets”, –  the report said.

According to the police, three protesters have been detained, there is no information on injuries or property damage yet.
