US general declares space a war zone

The Pentagon considers outer space a “war zone” in the confrontation with Russia and China

Such a statement was made by commander of the US Space Forces, Air Force General John Raymond in an interview with The Washington Post.

In particular, he lamented the fact that Russia and China have weapons that can destroy American satellites.

“Obviously, space is a war zone, just like air, land and sea. This is something that has really come to fruition over the last few years, as both China, which is our constant threat, and Russia have developed weapons that can either disrupt or destroy our satellites”, –  Raymond said.

He also pledged that the U.S. would become a “dispatcher” in space, taking control of off-planet activity.
