President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon discussed on Friday the situation on the border of the two countries. This was reported by the press service of the head of the Kyrgyz state.
“The heads of state discussed measures to quickly de-escalate the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border. Zhaparov emphasized that the Kyrgyz side is determined to resolve interstate issues through dialogue and maintain a stable situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border”, – the message says.
The presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agreed to hold a face-to-face meeting in Dushanbe, the press service added.
“The heads of state agreed to resolve the current situation exclusively by peaceful means and hold a face-to-face meeting in the city of Dushanbe in the second half of May this year”, – the message says.
