According to TASS, the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the missile cruiser Moskva, successfully hit a target imitating a simulated enemy ship. As the press service of the fleet told reporters on Friday, the crew of a missile cruiser used the Basalt missile system in the Black Sea for the first time.
“The “Guards of the Order of Nakhimov” missile cruiser “Moskva” of the Black Sea Fleet for the first time in modern history performed missile firing in the Black Sea with the main missile system of the ship “Basalt” with the missile “Volcano”. The shooting was carried out at a naval target shield imitating a simulated enemy ship. The missile successfully hit a target at a maritime training ground at a distance of 30 km”, – the message says.
According to the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Vice-Admiral Igor Osipov, the materiel of the cruiser “Moscow” is in service, the personnel are healthy.
“The flagship is being deployed to the permanent readiness forces, ready to carry out the assigned tasks”, – the commander noted.
The crew of the cruiser “Moscow” went to sea the day before. During the exercise, naval sailors, together with the crews of aircraft and helicopters of the naval aviation and air defense of the fleet, worked out air defense actions.
