Sandu sets a date for early parliamentary elections in Moldova

Moldovan President Maia Sandu has set early elections for July 11, 2021.

Earlier it became known that the Constitutional Court of Moldova declared unconstitutional the decision of the parliament to impose a state of emergency due to the coronavirus. The abolition of the emergency regime gave the president of the republic the right to sign a decree on the dissolution of parliament and set a date for early elections.

“I signed a decree on the dissolution of parliament. Early parliamentary elections will be held on July 11”, – Sandu said.
